I have been working with the tutorials here which have been helpful, but now I am running in an odd problem. When upload the map as a temporary file (in Emerald), it looks great. When I upload it as a permanent (pay 10LD for it), it looks like garbage. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. There is no other difference between these two.
The one on the left is a 'regular' one, and the one on the right is the 'temporary' one. Both are lossless compression.
Temporary vs. Regular upload problems.

Has this happened several times, then? Or is it an isolated incident?

It has every time I have tried to use the precision technique. I have had it look good when I uploaded as a 'regular' map, but when I log (or someone else looks at it) it looks messed up again. None of these use the Multires. I have tried using the multires simple subdivide level 3 as suggest in the multires and LOD tutorial. I ended up with another messed up result.

Additional information: the sculpties always look perfect in the preview window before I upload them. They look exactly like they do in Blender.

I figured it out. I had fewer than 1024 faces and was running into the SL lossless bug. I upped the faces to 32x32, and it worked fine.
