The guy was also a miracle worker and saved all of my data (though he couldn't entirely save the drive itself.)
Sorry I haven't finished any of the tutorials like I had planned. My sister's computer... It's only two years old, where mine is 6, but hers is painfully slow by comparison. Just working with Blender was really difficult. Also being without a graphics tablet made doing any texture work take about three times as long.
On that note... I think if anyone is really serious about trying to do something like this for a living, you really ought to invest in the proper tools. I could live without Photoshop, probably. Gimp is actually not too bad of a program. But having a decent computer that can keep up with your work flow really does help. As does having a proper Wacom tablet.
