Still having trouble?

My sculptie gets super deformed at a distance.
Because Second Life lowers the resolution of sculpted prims from a distance, some deformation is expected, however if you're getting too much deformation, or if you need the sculptie to retain its shape better, I have some advice, and some tricks.
First, the advice. Have you been modeling your sculpties with multires? If so, have you checked to see what your sculpt looks like at the lowest resolution? I've seen many sculpters make the mistake of sculpting straight from a 32 x 32 mesh. If you do this, than your sculptie can loose even it's basic shape from a fairly short distance.
Modeling from 8x8 and working up will ensure that your sculpt keeps at least it's basic shape at great distances. However, when working with geometric shapes and Fractional Prim Modeling, sometimes working at 8x8 is impossible. Working at 16x16, at least, will usually retain your sculptie's shape at a good enough distance.
If you've done what you can with multires, but still need a little extra resolution boost, I go through some tricks in this tutorial.
